What we are doing in terms of sustainability to drive the transformation of the construction industry.
The IBU supports sustainable building by providing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that enable informed, transparent decisions. Our independently verified EPDs are based on clear life cycle assessments in accordance with EN 15804 - offering a reliable foundation for circular construction, climate- and resource-efficient building practices, and digital processes in the construction industry. This is how we actively drive the transformation of the building sector with traceable data.
What do we do and what are our areas of activity?
With nearly 400 members, the IBU is the largest alliance of companies and associations in the building materials industry committed to sustainable construction. It ensures that environmental aspects are part of building sustainability assessments and is a leading international programme operator for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in accordance with EN 15804.
