Dr. Martina Bender has been Managing Director of the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) since April 2026. Holding a PhD in Economics and a degree in Forestry, she has more than twelve years of experience in product sustainability, environmental management, life cycle assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). As a former independent EPD verifier, she has first-hand knowledge of the construction products industry and the EPD system.
