HALM constructs climate-positive building shells using modular wall and roof elements that incorporate straw as insulation. Combined with timber-frame construction, this approach provides excellent thermal insulation and sequesters over 100 kg of CO2 per square meter of wall surface, while requiring minimal primary energy. Certified construction straw is pre-finished at the factory with plaster surfaces made of clay and lime, as well as a variety of surface and facade solutions. The result: short construction times, the highest KfW energy efficiency standards, and healthy living conditions thanks to optimal humidity regulation and protection from summer heat.
